I'm a pro, but I won't work with at least 32GB - my main squeeze 16" MacBook Pro has 64GB and when I get a Studio it will be the same. I tried an M1 Mini with 16GB and it was a dog in LR and PS (esp if one wanted a browser, Pages, etc open at the same time). If you plan on ONLY running LR or PS with no other apps running, then go for 8GB. But it will still swap a lot of memory, and that gets worrying about the life of the SSD.

Reading this thread I feel kind of relieved because I opted for a M 10-R instead of a new M11. With "just" 40 MP I am still able to work on my photos using just an iPad Pro.

I use m11 and m10 r subsequently, the M1 ipad pro eats up all no problem, few months ago was iPad Pro 2018, bit struggling but gets it done just fine, experience is not good though especially with clone stamps etc

My 2018 iPad Pro still works great.. better than my 2018 late MacBook Pro ..

I moved all of my editing the the M2 iPad Pro 16gb and it works flawlessly. Love using the Apple Pencil. I primarily use LR though, ocassionally I replace skies in PS which I pull out an M1 MacBook Air 13” which I think is 16gb RAM.

the price increase tempted me to go with macbook pro 14, however storage dont really matter in my case, i have the 1Tb LR cloud and physical ext ssd mate so its good to go but no denying having extra storage is handy

i have observed for case with LR works only, even the 8Gb would suffice, but for convenience i dont always close the background apps, here the 16gb excels

For me internal memory is very important because lightroom and photoshop take too much space plus topaz softwares and dxo products take more than adobe products so for me 256 gb is never enough.. my MacBook Pro is i7 2.2ghz with 512 ssd and 16 gb ram .. but the M1 and M2 processors are really exceptional..  can’t imagine how powerful are  the M Max processors..

it is always important to have sufficient internal storage as well as internal memory, but for my case, the internal memory which is the RAM is more crucial since i have always used cloud storage, hence even a 1Tb internal storage wont be enough

the max is way too powerful i wouldnt even think about it since my work is limited only in LR and dont do video or some shorts
