Hope it didn't take too long to clean off the salt spray afterwards.  Cracking photo.

Thanks, Graham!  No salt spray on the camera, the main risk was being less than 10' from the biggest waves washing along the rock I was standing on.  Timing my retreat to a higher rock to avoid the big ones was everything!

One of the best beaches I have ever been to (regardless of its name :)). Absolutely well worth the trip on its own.

Google maps have both.

Traigh Rosamol has been nominated as one of the World's Top 10 Beaches.

Unfortunately some visitors choose to abuse it.  Despite 'No Fires' signs in the dunes behind the beach, some of which have been deliberately burnt, a minority of people insist on bringing wood to make fires and light disposable barbeques directly on the grassy areas of the dunes and machair, causing ongoing long term damage and erosion to a very fragile ecosystem long after they've all buggered off Southwards back to their housing estates.  Others simply drop their full doggy bags and other rubbish on the beach and in the dunes for someone to clear up after them.

Fortunately, most visitors appreciate it for the amazing place it is and treat it with respect.
