Overgaard Posted August 16, 2006 Share #1 Posted August 16, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Went to scout for a veteran car last night as I need one for a photo for a bank's saving accounts promotion. Found this family who owns a Volvo 446 from 1959 that was originally build that way and then later renovate by the very guy who originally made it. Has beeen driving for a fish shop in Esbjerg, Denmark. R8, 80mm F/1.4 @ 4.0, 100 ISO Sensia +1F, Imacon scan, some PS work after.

fotografr Posted August 16, 2006 Share #3 Posted August 16, 2006 Beautiful photograph. I really like the serious expressions and the car is fantastic. I would expect this to work well for the bank's advertisement. But...are you sure it's not a 445?
robert_parker Posted August 16, 2006 Share #4 Posted August 16, 2006 Torsten That really is neat and involving composition - I can imagine the bank loving it.
Overgaard Posted August 16, 2006 Author Share #5 Posted August 16, 2006 Thanks. It's a Volvo 445 as it says and not a 446. I'm not sure we'll use this one for the bank. I was actually looking for a straight VW van of some sort car strictly original but totally perfect. Also considering making up a street of classic cars of all sorts ... the concept would work but it's hard to explain in short why. It's really a matter of understatement which is an artform here in Denmark. Reminds me about a movie where they had copied the Bob Dylan album cover with the beetle. Vanilla Sky? or whcih I've forgotten.
shootpeople Posted August 16, 2006 Share #6 Posted August 16, 2006 Not bad for a scouting shot Thorsten. Has a bit of a timeless feel to it even if it is in color. Had to come back and keep tabs on you. Dean

lambroving Posted August 17, 2006 Share #10 Posted August 17, 2006 Jaak, The land tilts to the right and so does the car, but the father and son are straight to my eye.
