I know there's issues with some digital cameras, and I'm pretty sure it will be ok... Just looking for confirmation

SiggiGun Posted October 29, 2022 Share #3 Posted October 29, 2022 The "issues" concerns the M5 in general and some older lenses such as a Super - Angulon. For the 50mm Elmar, No problem

Just looking for confirmation The only thing you have to be worried about is to mount the lens on the camera while it is fully extended.. then you can collapse it. This lens is an amazing little gem that doesn't cost a fortune compared to most other Leica lenses.

The Elmar-M 50/2.8 cannot be collapsed on the digital CL. And even on M bodies, it is advised to mount and unmount the lens in extended position to avoid hitting the roller cam with the tube of the lens. Never seen such advice for film M's though i don't know why given that the bottom of the tube is very close to the roller cam.
