I have one of these grips and it works very well with the M10. You have a choice of using it with and without the Arca-Swiss plate, so it is very flexible. Per my feed back, they have modified the profile of the hand grip as it was too tight for bigger than small size hands.

The only other alternative is the Kamercraft grip which is very good too, but they make them in tiny batches only, and not on a regular basis.

Hi bill, when using it without the arca-swiss, do you feel the base is identical to the original baseplate? In terms of thickness

So, I purchased the IDS modular grip for my M10P.

I have to say my experience with IDS was terrific. Really fast shipping and superlative materials and engineering. This was made for shooters. And I really appreciate that, as Leica has drifted to luxury weekend warrior markets.

The communication was fast and answered all my questions within 24 hours. I made my purchase and got the item as described.

It did occur to me as I read this thread that the company is one guy -- an ex engineer -- tinkering with modular solutions for Leica users and they are far more ingenious than his competitors. As someone who pumped Tri X through Leicas for almost a decade and won a few awards for that work back in the day when you would see brassed up cameras in conflict zones with shoe strings holding them together, it is a huge relief to see someone pushing design for praxis in the face of limited edition luxury brand collector items.

Grateful for this thread and variety of experiences to help folks decide. If you are able to snag on of his items as easily I did, the gear is terrific, refreshingly so. a
