Lovely, and I agree with Brent, though I fear the women of Iran will suffer new and continuing abuses

Unfortunately, this is true. But it seems this new generation is not willing to give up easily; they are suffering so much under that system that they are willing to go as far as they can.

Eventually, the women in Iran will prevail. People cannot be held down forever. I hope this movement spreads to Afghanistan.

Lovely portrait.

Afghanistan situation is unfortunately very different. They have been mistreated for almost ever and with Taliban ruling the country and savagely killing any woman, and man, there is not much hope for the time being.
But in Iran, it is different. They are an extremely educated and sophisticated people who have seen freedom before and are very proud of their history, culture and past! I have many Iranian connections and I am very impressed by each one of them. So many of them are professors in the Western universities, or in top level in scientific fields; without mentioning their writers and philosophers throughout history.
I wish the Afghan people still had the protection they need so badly and wish them well. But it is very hard to discuss these issues in this kind of site!
