Leica, did you seriously offer to fly these people to Germany for the launch? Giving them a bottle of water was a stretch! Unfortunately, these types of "internet celebrities" are more important to selling Leicas than photographers. Â Successful photographers and artists do not talk about gear too much. On my MP I had the screw plate removed due film scratching on the cell side. So that's make take on the M6. I will still use my MP and save up for the 50 and 35 APOs. A screenshot from one of the M6 videos, and it seems to show that the four screws on the pressure plate of the new M6 are recessed below the surface of the plate now.  Welcome, dear visitor! delta100 Posted October 23, 2022 Share #23 Â Posted October 23, 2022 (edited) Well, that's very interesting. Ten years ago Leica replaced my four screw plate with a screw less plate. I would not want that plate in the video near the film cell side. I wish Leica would allow me to test and review the M series. Please Leica. oldwino Posted October 23, 2022 Share #24  Posted October 23, 2022 The Phoblographer is an abomination of a camera review website. Really just the worst written, and full of contradictory statements and falsehoods.

The reviewer probably spent the entire trip looking for the button on the bottle that releases the cap, or trying to to put a film in it. There should be a requirement for online reviewers to pass a test before they're let loose on the internet with camera gear. Â

kivis Posted November 19, 2022 Share #30 Â Posted November 19, 2022 That web site is bogus. This review is the last straw. I deleted it from my bookmarks.
andrew01 Posted November 19, 2022 Share #31  Posted November 19, 2022  He doesn’t even know what an M6TTL looks like.  Hard to believe Leica would offer him all expenses paid trip to germany to review the camera. Surely they would look for someone with at least the most basic knowledge of the brand and the cameras.

This may be all they care about: TRAFFIC Average of 1.58 million pageviews a month average across all feeds Average of 562,000 unique visitors a month Average of 1:27 minutes a session Hard to believe that anyone could spend 1:27 minutes at a time on that site. There are so many ads and popups that I hit the back button after 30 seconds. I’m convinced at this point they never actually received an invite, that thing at the top of the review was to make them seem like they have more cred with Leica than they do

I think that confused a lot of users, which is why Leica went with single stroke technology in the M10-D hybrid camera. Â

Anbaric Posted November 20, 2022 Share #37 Â Posted November 20, 2022 (edited) For anyone not familiar with the Ikanagas channel, his M Monochrom unboxing video and review, his experience with Lightroom on the Mac, and his 50 APO Summicron review are particularly valuable. He also has some useful advice on situations where it might make more sense to use a Nikon SLR rather than a Leica. But you'll probably want to watch them all. I don't think it works that way around. You'd have to buy the M10-D and get a film back, but those are probably only available to Professional photographers like Ikanagas.
