noaml1 Posted October 15, 2022 Share #1 Posted October 15, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Will it even be able to resolve to 60megapixels? Does anyone have any experience with this?
Advertisement Posted October 15, 2022 Posted October 15, 2022 Hi noaml1, Take a look here Is the m11 wasted with Summicron 50mm f2 pre 6bit encoding?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andybarton Posted October 15, 2022 Share #2 Posted October 15, 2022 Just manually code the lens, but I seriously doubt it will make any difference. An M11 will work just fine with 99% of M lenses from 1954
jaapv Posted October 15, 2022 Share #3 Posted October 15, 2022 The lens resolution/ sensor resolution is not a weakest link situation but an additive one. Your lens will work better than ever. The lens correction by the coding is minimal to zero. 1
01af Posted October 15, 2022 Share #4 Posted October 15, 2022 It is a common misconception to think of sensors out-resolving lenses or lenses out-resolving sensors. But the lens-and-sensor system doesn't work that way. Better lenses yield better images on any sensor. And higher-resolving sensors yield better images behind any lens. So don't worry. If you liked your 50 mm Summicron in the past then you will love it on the M11. 5
