maxfairclough Posted October 14, 2022 Share #1 Posted October 14, 2022 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) In this recent interview with Stefan Daniels, as seen below, he mentions that he received a Leica M6 when he was a young employee. He sold it and later discovered it was an “O” type Leica. When I google this, nothing returns. Could I be correct in assuming that this is similar to the Leica-0 series where perhaps this M6 was the prototype for the M6 model? 2min 35 seconds. 250swb Posted October 14, 2022 Share #3 Posted October 14, 2022 Maybe he sold it without looking in the box?
Anbaric Posted October 14, 2022 Share #4 Posted October 14, 2022 From the context, I would guess an early pre-production M6 (by analogy with the original 0-series). Perhaps it had an unusual serial number, or some minor difference in features? (probably nothing major, or they would not have used it at the Akademie). Leica also made replicas of the original 0-series, contemporary with the M6, but I'm sure he doesn't mean one of these unless he really didn't look in the box, if it even had one!
