hiphop Posted September 18, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted September 18, 2007 Excellent John ! This is a great shot. Nice colors and interesting angles. Last but not least, the light in the lanterns is just perfect. A best of... Pierre-Olivier

JE Posted September 18, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted September 18, 2007 John, exactly as Pierre-Olivier said, the light in the lanterns is beautiful...All around the light is great. Only one thing....IMHO if the boy with the white shirt with the stripes was a little darker the photo wouldn't have competing aspects. Does that make sense? I mean that the sun is giving light and everything is tinged with its warmth, while the white t-shirt, however darkened and in shadow it is seems to be just a touch too vibrantly white.... jmr Posted September 19, 2007 Author Share #7 Â Posted September 19, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Guys, Â thanks for your comments - this was just a quick snap taken as we were returning from the Biennale. It's a crop from the fully zoomed-in C-Lux original, so the effective focal length would be about 200mm full frame equivalent. Â Jonathan, I agree with your critique and attach an amended version. Â Â Thanks again.
JE Posted September 19, 2007 Share #8 Â Posted September 19, 2007 John, I think it works a lot better now. With the shirt darker the space between the lanterns on the right and the one (beautifully lit) lantern on the left is cleaner, unobstructed. This is a wonderful photo. hsw Posted September 19, 2007 Share #9 Â Posted September 19, 2007 I really like the effect on the colour of the lanterns. Looks like precious Amber. Thanks for sharing this gorgeous shot! Â Henry
