Who pays $3800:for a 30 year old M6?  You can buy a used MP for that, or a new one for $4200!  Just order from the UK and the warranty is international.

idk if anyone is paying 3800$ for it, but thats what I see some going for.  I wouldn't pay 3800$ For an M6, 2000-3000 is the max I would pay for one

I'd go high 2's for a big M6 in excellent condition. Definitely  quite a bit lower for the normal Leica logo on top of the M6.

Yes, scanned with  Z7 or D 750, using the 60mm G macro lens and ES2 film holder.  Converted using negativelabpro.com

Thanks, I really need a solution. I keep waiting it out hoping someone will release a modern batch scanner while I suffer in purgatory with a flatbed.

Arrived in Leitz Park a few hours ago, and await the announcements tomorrow.

I was told that Leica Germany has never had this much interest for an event at Leitz Park.

And for what is supposed to be a limited edition item (?)

Are they doing the free roll of film thing there, too?

I read it's not limited but will take a while to get one if you're not near the top of the list. Good news is it may open up more availability of the black MP.

The 35 Steel Rim reissue is supposed to be in two variants, one in silver and one limited edition in black.

.What makes this desirable over an MP or an original M6?

I’m not hugely excited by this release either, but I think the argument to buy this updated M6 over an original one would be ‘better’ (mp) innards, less chance / No chance of zinc bubbling, better mp viewfinder. I find my mp rangefinder patch has noticeably more contrast than my m6, and I’m much more confident with it. I don’t have flare issues with M6 but this many have.  Also serviceability / future proofing since it’s MP light meter

I had also thought it was going to be lighter (eg same material top plate as black m11) but if the rumours are now saying top and bottom brass then I guess that’s unlikely

and sorry I just re-read your post and notice you also said what are the reasons to buy over an mp ! Answer is probably not a lot :)

Some will want the non-glossy black paint that will still brass with use.

curious that the black is the limited edition. Would that be black paint then? Or like the 28mm summicron that was just released.

I like the look of it. Black paint on brass but ‘matte’ hmmm. Would have sold for so much more if non matte, like the vintage black paint cameras.

It says ‘scratch resistant’ so will the brass eventually show through with use? Kinda pointless covering the brass with scratch resistant paint so you can never see it. Especially when the most valuable Leicas on the market are ‘show through’ black paint brass

A glossy black paint in this same design would have been amazing. But still, waiting on the phone call from Leica tomorrow and see how I go

This is interesting!

Was this something that was speculated on this leica rumors? Or from one of your sources?

Anticipation is real, I just want to see it already haha!
