Advertisement (gone after registration)

There's a roll of film in it still frames unexposed so I don't want to open it --- Why does my 0.72 M7 not have a serial number on the bottom plate? Or anywhere else that's visible on the exterior.  Dumb question probably has an easy answer!  Never noticed before.

I'd be more worried if it had a serial # on the bottom plate.

I have an M2 with somebody's social security number carved into the bottom plate...yeah, it's ugly as hell but it never shows in the photos.

I've seen so many cameras with social sec #s, or driver's license #s scratched on them.

That was from the day when:

1/ Identity theft was unknown

b/ Cameras were seen as keeping them forever items.
