Bit of lazy lockdown shooting from my sofa, CL Sigma 100-400.  Also downloaded a trial of Topaz Denoise,  as the first image was shot at ISO 3200 and it definitely helped.

Excellent Jane! I've also found that Topaz works well in these situations, I ended up buying it, well worth it.

Best

Think that I will be buying it too Mike, then try to find the time to re-visit some old shots that would definitely benefit.   I'm always a bit reluctant to add extra steps to my lazy and basic workflow and little time or motivation to learn something new but so far I've only just really hit the auto button and have been pleasantly surprised by the results.  Fourteen days self isolating gave me a push to try it, glad I have.

Stay safe...Jayne

One to keep us legal... not much detail but was shot at around 30 metres where I find the Sigma definitely loses detail, just like the light and colours.

This time last year I was in Corsica.  Using a CL with TL35 Summilux lens.  What a distant memory!

Jayne, if you have Lightroom, it includes very effective noise reduction, with a control. However you will have more control with specialist plugins.

While confined, a few suggestions. Watch a webonair or two. Purge your catalogue. Regain disc space. Rediscover lost treasures. Email oldies to grandchildren to make them smile. Make a 'To Do' list of projects to shoot and do some preliminary research. Oh, so much to do between naps. 😊

Thanks David, yes I have Lightroom, the subscription version and use Classic, pretty much all I use, can't remember the last time I ventured into Photoshop.  I have always managed with Lightroom's noise reduction sliders and thought they did pretty well, until I tried Topaz, there really is quite a difference and for anything important or something you want to get the best from, well worth the investment both time and financial I think.  I use a pretty old iMac, and a 2015 MBP for most of my photo editing and it can slow things considerably adding Topaz into the workflow but worth it I think.  I have watched a few interesting you tube videos on the use of Topaz in the last couple of days and learnt a few new tricks, so worthwhile. Thanks again.

Without wishing to digress, I do use LR most times and occasionally PictureCode Noise Ninja for more difficult images. Regarding speed of processing, I bit the bullet this month and had my ten years old bespoke PC upgraded to achieve just that. C-Drive now is solid state and speeds through all processing tasks in a fraction of the time. My two internal data drive were also replaced with triple the original capacity drives. So, loads of space for buffering memory intensive processing tasks.
