bags27 Posted March 22, 2019 Share #4882 Posted March 22, 2019 (edited) these were taken with the 18-56 in Wynwood, where Louis likes to roam. Of course, they don't compare to his artistry. the first is through the new parking garage; the second is a wall mural. Welcome, dear visitor! Petercoll Posted March 22, 2019 Share #4895 Posted March 22, 2019 I stand corrected, but Amateur Photographer weekly periodical stated in its revue of the CL when new, exposure should be taken to obtain the same tone and intensity of blue to match that of the sky at the time, then dynamic range can be conjured to process rgb, highlights and shadow detail using lightroom . Ando Posted March 22, 2019 Share #4899 Posted March 22, 2019 I've often noticed in this forum that my pictures are darker through the upload software. Since I habitually expose them slightly under, they often appear too dark here. The monitor brightness, its color depth, etc. also play a role. I develop my pictures very intuitively (with Lightroom 5.7) from the DNGs. With histogram help, or even if I would choose the automatic exposure, the photos would be much too bright to my liking. I just don't like it too bright...... Maybe my soul is too dark? 😈

Maybe my soul is too dark? 😈 I come from an era when materials were too expensive to ‘burn’ , unless reticulation in negatives was wanted on purpose. ‘Burning’ is/was oversaturation when paper was left in the solution bowl too long, and a murkiness is added to the image, much like distortion in hi-fi in music reproduction. To summarise, I used to swear when paper was lost because it was left too long in developer solution. ‘Burning’ , or wasting as a deliberate course of action , is a new one on me .
