Magdelene College, Cambridge. I shoot in colour for preference, but the garish waste bins dominate the scene here.

And here's the same shot for those who like garish colour, or are connoisseurs of waste bins

I wish I knew where you saw them. Could be a winter flowering viburnum?

Those I saw yesterday at the San Francisco botanical gardens. Thanks much for the vibernum suggestion, I'll check how that fits.

In which case, your plant is probably much more exotic.

Ice to the River

CL 11-16 f2.8 Tokina, the lens is really to big for the CL, I am talking myself into the 11-23, but this lens is very good. The main problem is with the Nikon G adapter I don't know what fstop I am on, would love to have that control

I use iNaturalist.org for all flora and fauna identification questions. There are thousands of knowledgeable contributors. Just post a quick shot from your mobile phone and most likely you will have an answer within minutes. And at the same time you are contributing to a database that is used for scientific purposes.

Good to know, thank you for the suggestion, I'll check it out.

You can search for my pictures and see that I’m a big fan of the 11-23. It’s sharp and gives me what I need in terms of wide angle through to near normal.
