Pono Posted September 26, 2019 Share #7085 Posted September 26, 2019 I got my hands on an origional 28/5.6 Summaron and these feral cats were my first opportunity to grab a snapshot at 5.6 aperture priority, iso 400 using the in camera black and white function on the CL. Such a wide choice of brands available on Amz. Mostly aluminium. All new to me. Can you recommend a brand which is safe to use on the CL? Many thanks. One that seems to be working best for me at the moment (Framelines don't matter on the CL), is the Fotodiox one - this from Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fotodiox-Adapter-Coding-Digital-50-75mm/dp/B003Y2QD98/ref=pd_sbs_421_t_2/262-9144990-3701361?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B003Y2QD98&pd_rd_r=6cbbd0bb-e116-4ace-9eba-b1077cf50b33&pd_rd_w=0ksxB&pd_rd_wg=PYD2J&pf_rd_p=e44592b5-e56d-44c2-a4f9-dbdc09b29395&pf_rd_r=D1A1BDFRSMD702ADBAKD&psc=1&refRID=D1A1BDFRSMD702ADBAKD Recommended are the original Leitz ones if you can find one, the Voigtlander, and also the Rayqual which Robert White stocks here in the UK. Many seem to get lucky with the cheaper eBay ones though. https://www.robertwhite.co.uk/optics/shop-by-brand/rayqual.html Hope that helps.

I see it is a bit of a gamble finding an adapter which will attach and detach easily, while enabling use of historic lenses on M-mount bodies. I am keen to try and will report back in due course.

Hey Jane, I had one of those a couple of years back for my Sony A7. Great lens! I had to take it apart and re-lube the focusing helicoid, as the movement was so stiff that the lens unscrewed from the mount when turning the focusing ring. Nice to see one in action once again!

Who needs a macro lens when travelling light?
