Hi I am new here and hopefully will be new to the Leica system as well, I am planning to buy my first Leica camera system SL2 and noticed that Leica is running a promotion that all Leica owners can refer upto 5 people to get massive discounts on their first purchase of a new camera. Unfortunately I don’t know anybody who has a Leica and was wondering if any of the members here would be kind enough to sen me a referral link the name of the scheme is Leica family and friends and all Leica owners can refer other people.

Dr Badamon,  First, welcome to the forum.  Second, you need to open a Leica account that is free to open.  Third, the Leica Camera site explains how to register any new or used Leica camera to qualify for the vouchers.  I sent you a PM to explain the process based on my experience to get the vouchers.  This is the link to get you started.   r/ Mark

The OP doesn't have any Leica equipment. I think he is wanting to purchase using the 'Family  and friends' vouchers to get the discount.

Which is why I suggested that he approaches a Leica dealer to get the ball rolling.

David, I agree always good to talk to a dealer, but self evidently the guy will not be known to any, and I was making the silly assumption that Leica wanted the scheme to have some credibility and to work as advertised.

This is a Leica US only promotion.

I would think that you need to know someone who has ALREADY registered their equipment on the Leica site and who can obtain a voucher themselves to pass on to a new customer.

From the promo website:

Passion for photography unites us. And we want to reward yours.

We're connected by our shared passion for photography. As appreciation for yours, we are offering anyone with a registered product* in their Leica Account an exclusive Leica SL-System offer. Save $650 on the purchase of a Leica SL-System body or bundle and $500 on a Leica SL Prime Lens.

Share your photographic passion with friends by inviting them to take advantage of our offer on the Leica SL-System. Simply activate your vouchers and share the link with 5 friends. Friendship inspires us, as our shared passion for photography does too.

I registered my M11 on my Leica Account. I live in Bosnia and Hercegovina and have used my address form there.

No problems with this before but when I wanted to activate this Leica Family and Friends voucher it did't worked.

Than I contacted Leica customer service and explained everything.
They said to me that they work in the moment to get this promotion also on the other country's that are not in supported list.

Before I also said to them  that I have my other address in Croatia and Germany so they suggested to me that I try to
change my address in User profile on my Leica Account. I did this and the Leica Family and Friend promotion got activated...

Sorry for my bad english... This is not my native language... I tried my best...

Nikola

I was wrong...

Leica UK are doing this too. Not exactly a widely known promotion, if no one here knows about it.

And, the good news gets better:

Thx for flagging this...I rarely visit the Leica club site so did not notice this so far...Now I have received my vouchers and while I do not really need another prime for my SL2 a discount of €500 sounds tempting, whilst the remaining cash amount payable is still significant for something I thought I would not need until 2 min ago...;) Let's see, and if the 21mm or 24mm Summicron SL would be available prior to end of the promotion, this would be really tempting...- anyway an interesting marketing approach to reward also existing customers instead of only acquiring new customers.

I had an e-mail direct from Leica promoting it , so thought it common knowledge.
