moreone Posted July 18, 2022 Share #1 Posted July 18, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Good morning, I wander what kind of sealing is use on the top plate in M11. Yesterday by an accident I poured the coffee on the top plate, not too much but it was covered by a fluid for 5 seconds. I immediately remove the coffee by wiping with it my clothes and I used air for removing rest from under the knobs. i examined the viewfinder and rest of visible hole’s and didn’t noticed any leaked fluid under the glasses. Do you recommend any additional checking? What is the price for the checking in Wetzlar? I wander if you have any similar experience in this matter? Have I nice day. LeicaR10 Posted July 18, 2022 Share #2 Posted July 18, 2022 (edited) Moreone, The M11 is protected throughout the camera body with seals to help prevent water or liquid damage. This includes the view finder. But remember, Leica M lenses are NOT weather sealed and can get moisture inside if exposed to such. It sounds like you reacted quickly and wiped the camera body off and it should be OK and no need to send it to Wetzlar for a check up. If the camera starts acting strange, then it might need a check. In the meantime, I suggest you go shoot some great photographs and don't sweat the wet stuff....r/ Mark PS...Welcome to the forum. Was it light, medium or dark roast? My wife did this to her laptop and it killed it. Edited July 19, 2022 by fotografr

Herr Barnack Posted July 19, 2022 Share #6 Posted July 19, 2022 Dark roast is most fatal to the chrome M11, whereas light roast is the Achilles' heel of the black version. 1
