Price was very cheap but the camera have one problem. B-mode is not working. When i press the release button, the curtains immediately close. I don’t see this problem in any websites. Does anyone have experience about this problem. Is it easy to fix. I come from Japan. thank you.

jankap Posted July 17, 2022 Share #2 Posted July 17, 2022 (edited) I think, you should press the release button as long as you want to expose. If you use a cable release there is hold mechanism on it, at least on my Zeiss one (from 1950). Formerly the cameras had a T-mode, where one had to release a second time for the second curtain. Danner Posted July 17, 2022 Share #3 Posted July 17, 2022 Normally in B mode, the shutter opens when you press the release button, but yours closes? How did the curtain open in the first place? You may haver a much bigger issue.
madNbad Posted July 17, 2022 Share #4 Posted July 17, 2022 (edited) I had the same problem with a M2. The B was working fine till I sent it for service, when it returned the B setting did the same thing your M6 is exhibiting, push the shutter release and the curtains close immediately. A local technician found the shutter release actuator had been bent and the camera had not been lubricated. This alleviated the problem for most of the time but it still happened occasionally. Finally, I sent it to Don Goldberg. He lubricated it properly and the problem never returned. Most likely your M6 needs service.
