Since time immemorial, I have placed UV filters on all my lenses (B+W brand). Over time they get tiny spots on the filter that won't wipe off. It does not seem to effect the photos that I take. Should I be concerned? Is it time to replace the offending filter?

Are you sure those tiny spots aren't fungus, esp as seeing your location is tropical? If that's the case, then yes, definitely throw them away. Otherwise it's been proven that one can have quite a bit of gunk BEFORE the lens and it won't affect the image quality much.

If it looks like fungus then I’d throw them away. If not, I’d try to clean them with a lens pen first.

if you have fungus on your filters, you may want to check the lenses as well.
