Scanned with a Nikon LS-5000 scanner in 2011, by when the transparencies had deteriorated considerably. Scenes that no longer exist in the prosperous city. Welcome, dear visitor! AndreasG Posted July 5, 2022 Share #2 Posted July 5, 2022 Very interesting documentation about the life and living condition of hard working people in Singapore!

AndreasG Posted July 5, 2022 Share #4 Posted July 5, 2022 Definitely, my first trip to Singapore was 1985 and I still remember a few old places, however, I do not keep any photos of them regrettably.

vikasmg Posted July 7, 2022 Author Share #6 Posted July 7, 2022 A few more - these for 1978. 1 of 2. Scanned with a Nikon LS-5000 scanner in 2011. Once again - sorry for the poor quality - partly my lack of skill and partly the damage caused by years of heat and humidity in Singapore. In case anyone is interested in scanning old transparencies, I can recommend both Silverfish and VueScan to help recover colour and reduce visual damage. I found the latter particularly useful https://www.hamrick.com. Welcome, dear visitor! war Posted July 18, 2022 Share #8 Posted July 18, 2022 I like them as is. Looks like color slide film, nothing wrong with that. The quality of the subject material is more important than the technical quality (to me anyway) 2

I just wish I still had my Nikon Coolscan 4000. Wonderful scanner, as is the 5000. I think these images look great.

I used that too but in the end I found it easier to go with VueScan. I think also, with SilverFast you don't need to buy another copy of the software if you change scanners and I did change from a Minolta scanner I used earlier to a Nikon.
