Advertisement Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 Hi Leslie22, Take a look here 50 Lux Black Crome. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Ecar Posted June 9, 2022 Share #2 Â Posted June 9, 2022 The BC is E43, while the regular one is E46, so it's highly unlikely that they are "exactly" the same... In terms of overall rendering? Yes, close enough. I never compared them side-by-side and I don't have the regular version anymore.
WvE Posted June 9, 2022 Share #3  Posted June 9, 2022 Beautiful lens, mechanically and optically. Just a bit on the heavy side.

Yellow_78 Posted June 9, 2022 Share #5  Posted June 9, 2022 I thought they only made 500 of these? Seems like they are making more as it's still available new? I remember reading an article and it saying that it was optically the same just the outside more vintage design. I own it and like the feel, the weight and am a fan of the scalloped focus ring.
jaeger Posted June 9, 2022 Share #6  Posted June 9, 2022 There is one in black paint which is limited and very rare. The black chrome is over few thousands made I believe.

Not so easy to compare these pictures, because the WB, and partly the angle, is different. But I've had both lenses too, and share the experience – the pictures from the standard version feel a little smoother than the BC. But I'm not sure if it's just something I believe, because the tactile experience is different (the BC has a tighter user experience, and maybe that leads me to believe that the pictures are "tighter" as well). overexposed Posted June 17, 2022 Share #12 Â Posted June 17, 2022 The black chrome and non black chrome are identical optically wise, of course there can be sample variations, but officially the BC didnt have a new optically formula

It's only in the very far corners where the two lenses differ in terms of vignetting. There is no difference in optical performance otherwise. Both had a B+W xs-pro clear filter / no hood.

Hmm, so could be the BC's narrower snoot doesn't accept filters quite as well without some minor vignetting. If so, that also could mean slightly decreased corner sharpness if the filter is still in the way at infinity focus.
