Sitting here looking at my 18 year old M7Ti + 50/1.4 ASPH Ti and thinking it is a more posh set with the premium leather and strap.  The Titanium hot shoe cover might be a nice thing to source if available, however.  If only the new set were an MP.

One question I have.. why does Leica always include a roll of Tri-X?  it's kind of funny - it reminds me of the big deal a car dealer makes that he has given you a tank of gas (even with today's prices!) when you have just spent $20-30-40- 50 thousand dollars on a car!

Actually if you spent $20K on a car, and he gave you a tank of gas, that would be worth a lot more than  getting a  roll of Tri-X with the $20K Leica kit!

It’s a reminder that both the M camera and Kodak Tri-X arrived simultaneously in 1954. Leica introduced the M3 with the quick change bayonet mount and a single viewfinder/rangefinder window that was bigger and brighter than Contax. Kodak brought out a relatively new film with a higher base speed and more versatility than other offerings. The combination of the two opened the door to small format reportage photography.

I'm a frequent visitor to this forum. I've made some genuine friends from being on here, and if I've had a query about something, there's always someone knowledgeable who can answer my question. This place is a veritable font of knowledge. I like that, at heart, we're all of us keen supporters and users of the Leica brand. We get it.

However, it  amazes me how threads can descend into fury and accusation at the drop of a hat. It's happened to all of us on here, at some point. It's like a long-form version of the Twitter experience. The esteemed UK publication Viz comic, once published an exchange where someone took to Twitter with a polite question, wondering if anyone could explain to him the difference between a satsuma and a tangerine. By around the fifth reply he was already getting death threats, and the hashtag #knifeuphisar*e was trending. Social media in a nutshell.

Long may it continue!

I last looked at this thread on Saturday. By today there was nothing left but burnt embers. It's all been left to my imagination.

Haha - Burnt embers! Very good

They haven't always included a roll of film. It's only been a thing since the fancy packaging was introduced around the time the M-A came out and it's just a small gimmicky nod to another "heritage" product/brand. It's hardly meant as a serious part of the £4k+ deal.

Thank you for that!

I am glad Leica doesnt do that with it’s digital cameras. “Here’s your new M11. And here is a truck loaded with all the bits and junk needed for the first computer”

The funny thing is, both Tri-X and Leica film cameras are still in production and are just as useful today as they were when first introduced.  The first computer - or first digital camera - have long been relegated to the junk heap (or some museum somewhere) and have zero use today.

Not so sure. TriX is getting more expensive each passing day. 😅

Actually you’re right Leica M and tri-X are linked from the start !!
1954 : first roll of Kodak Tri-X in 135 and 120 formats & first Leica M3 !!!

Actually the first computers - while junk technically - are worth millions now!  The first Apple, etc.

I gotta ask... please post a pic of it!  I'd especially love to see the 50 1.4 Ti.  Reading up on it, the M7 Ti was one of the very few Leica Ti cameras that was milled from Ti like the new M-A Titan - the others were 'just' plated.
