Yea was concerned about my camera and found this forum thread using google.
Apart from the lack of comms I'm really please with the quality of the service. :)

It's great news, but everybody seems to have got their AR glass except Martin, interesting that everybody suddenly is asking for AR glass, there must be a massive demand for it.

Yes…positive feedback from members upon joining the forum is a little (cough) odd.
No doubt Andreas’ gnomes can check the IP addresses….

lol Nothing odd here. Just saw the thread and thought I'd share my experience.
If you want my ip address then log onto wizardswell.co.uk (my quake 3 server website) and you will see it.

When they sent me the email detailing the work required AR was an option. Only 95 quid so thought I may as well have it done while they had it.

Well given the delay with Martin the ultimate happy ending will be when Monjue gets their camera back, should be any day now if everything is to be believed.

Yes, hopefully.
Mine was just a CLA which is why it was probably so quick.
I am still waiting for them to send me the CLA certificate though. Hoping they are going to email it.

'Some people' advertise that they work from wherever their workshop is, so IP addresses can be evasive.

Even if recent joiners who post positive stories here is something to be cautious about, it may mean that the Camera Obscura owner has noticed the bad press and can choose to do something about it i.e. communicate better with his customers. I hope he takes the message on board.

No one has, yet, posted a bad experience in terms of the final deliverable, so I'm willing to cut him some slack - as long as things improve. There are few enough good Leica servicing offerings in this country as it is.

What's AR glass? All I can find is Augmented Reality........

I'm guessing AR = antireflective (i.e., coated) glass. Hopefully Camera Obscura exists outside the Metaverse...

I/ we was referring to the Camera Obscura guy, not you, although it's odd that you thought it was about you, you have a workshop at Rolls Royce?

lol my mistake. assumed it was about me as some were saying that it was odd I joined the day before I got my camera. :)

So you are Dave Ault and work for Rolls Royce, that's good to know.

I joined this forum just trying to help by sharing my experience.
All I have had so far is people doubting who I am so though I'd try and prove it.
You are obviously more interested in causing trouble than helping forum members.
I won't be commenting on any more of these posts.
Hope those who had problems get it sorted soon.

I am trying to help forum members. Just trying to make 2+2 make 4, because at the moment a lot of money is involved for members and all of a sudden there is a rush of 'two' people turn up to praise Camera Obscura in quick succession when nobody else has had a response from them for ages. Purely a coincidence I'm sure,.

Purely a coincidence I'm sure, but not worth overlooking, if it looks like a rat, smells like a rat, it could be a rat. But things keep going around, David Ault did work for Rolls Royce but he's retired, but you may have gone back to work, who knows, this is a complicated story.

Ok I understand your concern. Yes I took early retirement in August 2020 as I expect you saw on my LinkedIn. I should have said worked not work.
Just drop me an email or contact me via Linkedin if you want any more confirmation. I really am only trying to help.

Can we keep the personal details out of this please?

Yes, it does look suspicious when two new members suddenly arrive praising a company that is getting a bad wrap, but I am sure this is just coincidence.

Others use VPNs so it can look like they are on Flic En Flac Beach when in reality they are somewhere in the vicinity of Betelgeuse.
