I see no objectionable softness, the sunglasses for instance, are sharp enough. It all adds to the mid-20th Century feeling of the image. The only thing I would do, though, is run the sharpening brush over the eyes, not to sharpen, but to increase the local contrast there to bring out the whites and enhance them..

Thank  you Stu  for your opinion with softness I often wonder how  the old pros got along without all the new technology that young photographers rely on.  I always found taking only one lens and camera with me prefferab;y manual only makes me  a better photographer  by not getting  confused  and worrying  which setting  or lens I should be using.

Jeff glad to  hear your suggestion . Here is another print.

Let's see if anyone objects to the softness, which I think lends a dreaminess, and is no doubt more flattering to the subject.

That is clearly directed at me since I had the audacity to mention the softness of Henry's flower photo. I was under the mistaken impression that honest criticism was encouraged on this Forum. From now on I'll stick with descriptors like, "beautiful," and "lovely."

Brent, you'r lately  too sensitive  to criticism,  especially when its in your direction. I know you just recently retired as the head photographer for the liberial State Capital in Wisconsin  . Maybe you need to find something else to  occupy your time then worrying what others think.

It's not easy taking criticism, I know, I'm a conservative,  but we learn to  live with it. 😄

Well look who learned how to Google. 😁But get your facts straight. I retired from that position at the end of 2010--not "recently."
