ianforber Posted November 27, 2022 Share #21 Posted November 27, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) I’ve always used cameras the same way as @sdk - I couldn’t imagine working with auto review! The only time I deliberately check exposure is when I think the lighting might not give me the look I want. This usually involves me dialling in a couple of under exposure - perhaps once every few days. I’ve moved to using highlight weighted metering so need to check lighting even less now. Rear screen almost always switched off
Advertisement Posted November 27, 2022 Posted November 27, 2022 Hi ianforber, Take a look here Auto preview works only sporadically (screen remains black sometimes). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!

Therefore I‘d like to see directly with a quick view after each shot whether the lighting is as expected and not over or underexposed! how do you handle this? Maybe it is even more relaxing to be in the moment if you do not look after each pic! We were discussing elsewhere about what to do to avoid issues on the M11 and my first or second question was do you disable auto review. I have my reply . Just kidding. Disabling auto review is the first thing i do on all my digital cameras when i receive them. Got too many problems with that feature for many years and these images popping up near my cheek bother me when i shoot. I prefer the play button by far personally. YMMV.
