Henry Taylor Posted March 22, 2022 Author Share #3 Posted March 22, 2022 (edited) After taking these shot I decided to read up on our little friends not really knowing much about them, I was surprise that the working bee (male bees) takes 21 days to fully grow and the drone bee (female) 24 day while the queen who can live 2-5 years and is feed a diet of the richest honey and becomes fully developed after 16 days. Interesting the working bee is the smallest and can live up to six and eights weeks. The drone bees mate with the queen and die soon after mating. Drones that are unsuccessful at mating are chase away from the colony and end up dying from starvation and cold temperature. A also thought it interesting an individual worker bee is capable of making about 1/12 of a teaspoon of honey in her lifetime. That takes the life's work of 12 bees to produce one teaspoon. Figuring it out it was said it takes 768 honey bees to make a 12oz jar of honey, amazing! Interesting notice the pollen of my bees .
