topoxforddoc Posted September 9, 2007 Share #1 Posted September 9, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Ford built 2 GT40 Roadsters in 1965, specially for the Targa Florio, where it gets really hot. Here's one of them racing at Goodwood a week ago. Thanks for looking Charlie R9/DMR 280/4 APO
Advertisement Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 Hi topoxforddoc, Take a look here GT40 Roadster. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
elansprint72 Posted September 9, 2007 Share #2 Posted September 9, 2007 Superb shot Charlie, I like the angle. These are particularly interesting cars (for Ford GT dudes, anyway!), being partially constructed using glass-fibre stiffened with paper honeycomb. They had lots of trouble, usually serious () with wheels falling off, gearbox problems, etc. A total of five were built, chassis numbers 108 to 112, followed by a MkII roadster chassis X1. Good to see that at least one is still racing.
