Marac Posted March 13, 2022 Share #1 Posted March 13, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) So after a long wait to get my M9 cover glass replaced, I got my M9 back yesterday. It was set up with my Voigt 50mm f1.2 and with that lens it is spot on, however, when I put my 90mm on it is a different story, also when I put my 21mm on. My M9 was repaired at ACS, had a new sensor cover glass fitted twice, that side of the job has been done very well but they have not managed to set the rangefinder. Is this something I can do? should I send it to Leica? will they touch it after a 3rd party repair? is this a problem other than the rangefinder adjustment? Pics are ... 21mm 35mm 90mm and finally the 50mm Thanks in advanced Welcome, dear visitor! a.noctilux Posted March 13, 2022 Share #2 Posted March 13, 2022 Are these pictures rangefinder focussing with each lens ? The far picture in which part is RF focussing, houses or just put the lens in infinity ? Are your lenses calibrated ? At first I think that the replaced cover glass has not same characteristic like thickness or "n, v", as original glass, if it's the case, recalibrating RF may work only for one lens at one distance, a pity.

Thanks for your reply. The cover glass was the exact thickness this time (first time it was thicker) A very basic test really the outside shot was with the 90mm lens focussed with RF on the house with loft extension. All lenses I used work perfectly with my M9M so it's not a calibration issue. I did notice that the RF wheel is sticking out a bit further on my M9 than on my M9M and this would have an effect I think. There is a flathead screw to adjust it but I dare not start messing around with that, My gut instinct is to call Aperture on Tuesday and get them to have a chat with me. I did call Leica Mayfair and was promised a call back right away.... Still waiting for that.
lct Posted March 13, 2022 Share #4 Posted March 13, 2022 Is your 90 a "film" lens i.e. a lens made before digital? Just asking as i got focus issues due to back or front focusing with my Summicron 90/2 v3 and Elmarit 90/2.8 v2. Both were fixed during 6-bit coding.

Elmarit-M 90mm f2.8 it is uncoded but, it works fine on my M9M Edited March 13, 2022 by Marac
