Where is the Firmware Update for M10, M10R and M10M to use the new Visoflex ? Promised for March?

Recommended Posts

Well, yesterday I received the new EVF from B&H that I pre-ordered on the day of release to use with my M10D and M10M. I had figured by the time I would receive it the firmware update would be out. I have no plans at this time on upgrading to an M11. Now I'm having second thoughts because of the lack of any resolution improvement over the 020 EVF and the loss of GPS (I was unaware of these restrictions when I placed the pre-order).

Yes, the Visoflex 2 on a M10 makes no sense. On the M10 it has exactly the same resolution as the older model (2.4MP). Also one looses GPS (The M11 also does not have GPS, can only use the GPS of the connected phone). Rather buy the old one used which can be found for half the price.

Out of curiosity, why does Leica not mention anything about the resolution downgrade for the M10/r/p/d on their own listing for the Visoflex 2?

I see B&H has it listed, but not Leica.

The Leica spec sheet also says the new firmware would be available in March.  It wasn't.  They then said April.  Looks unlikely.  Latest update says May.  Who knows?
