egrossman Posted April 16, 2022 Share #23 Posted April 16, 2022 Well, yesterday I received the new EVF from B&H that I pre-ordered on the day of release to use with my M10D and M10M. I had figured by the time I would receive it the firmware update would be out. I have no plans at this time on upgrading to an M11. Now I'm having second thoughts because of the lack of any resolution improvement over the 020 EVF and the loss of GPS (I was unaware of these restrictions when I placed the pre-order). helohe Posted April 17, 2022 Share #24 Posted April 17, 2022 Yes, the Visoflex 2 on a M10 makes no sense. On the M10 it has exactly the same resolution as the older model (2.4MP). Also one looses GPS (The M11 also does not have GPS, can only use the GPS of the connected phone). Rather buy the old one used which can be found for half the price. Out of curiosity, why does Leica not mention anything about the resolution downgrade for the M10/r/p/d on their own listing for the Visoflex 2? https://leicacamerausa.com/leica-visoflex-2/ Welcome, dear visitor! bherman01545 Posted April 17, 2022 Share #26 Posted April 17, 2022 It may be buried somewhere on the Leica website, but I was informed of this from a Leica Technical Rep. I also found it in this article: https://www.macfilos.com/2022/01/31/come-back-visoflex-2-almost-all-is-forgiven/ -Brad

The Leica spec sheet also says the new firmware would be available in March. It wasn't. They then said April. Looks unlikely. Latest update says May. Who knows? Will R Posted April 20, 2022 Share #28 Posted April 20, 2022 I see some of the Visoflex 2 text has been updated. "...The Visoflex 2 is also backwards-compatible with Leica’s M10 models (M10, M10 Monochrom, M10R, M10-P and M10-D) once they have been updated with the new firmware released in May 2022."
