dmarkii Posted February 3, 2022 Share #1  Posted February 3, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi everyone!  I'm new to the genre - been buying/reading books, lurking on forums, watching YouTube videos and trying it out for myself for the past couple of weeks.  I live outside of NYC but commute in and out for work. I've been having fun learning, but would be even more fun if I could find a buddy or two to do it with.  Any thoughts or ideas on how to find that?  I've looked on meetup.com and other searches but not really turning up anything. Thanks!   Welcome, dear visitor! Louis Posted February 3, 2022 Share #2 Â Posted February 3, 2022 A nice set of monochrome; I particularly like your last shot very much. What camera did you use?

trickness Posted February 4, 2022 Share #5  Posted February 4, 2022 There is a group on Instagram called beer and cameras New York City and that is a meet up that happens every couple of months of New York City street photographers - open for everybody to come. I think the last one got canceled because of omicron, so there should be another one coming soon I would think. They announce it on their Instagram page so you should try to follow it. I definitely enjoy taking a break and talking to other street photographers, which in the city at least often happens down in Washington Square Park. But when it comes to actually shooting, I personally think one takes better photographs when they are completely focused on the task and the environment. Sharing with other people to me would be a distraction. You could always separate & agree to meet at a location in a couple of hours to review your images/get coffee I guess. Anyways…..welcome & good hunting! Where are you commuting from btw?
