I’ll take a look at the iiic too. Thanks a lot!

The original II is certainly an attractive camera, I think especially in black/nickel (though you'll pay a premium for that finish), and there's something to be said for a minimalist model like this. Incidentally, in the confusing Leica nomenclature it's just a II (also known as a 'Model D') rather than a IId (which suggests a variant of the very rare IIId without slow speeds, which I don't think exists). 1

Based on previous threads, I bought a iiif in December and really love it. I am on a slippery slope and now considering a second body. I never use the slow speed and really like the look and size of the model 2 shown in this thread. Are the model 2 without diopters harder to focus for someone wearing glasses? @Kl@usW., hope you do not mind me asking in this thread 😊. Aryel, I was afraid it would be—before I bought the II (D). But the finder-picture is just in focus for me without adjustment. My guess is that it depends...on your age and on your glasses. So my suggestion would be to try to get a II (D) in your hands and see how it works for you. K.
LocalHero1953 Posted May 17, 2022 Share #85 Â Posted May 17, 2022 FWIW I have a IIf and a II(D). I actually prefer the wider separation, because I'm less likely to put my eye to the wrong one and wonder why I can't see the RF patch. But perhaps this is something one gets used to. The RF in my II(D) has just been serviced and is now clearer than in the IIf.

I decided to go for it, worst case I should be able to sell it back locally but I am quite sure I won’t regret it. 39 minutes ago, LocalHero1953 said: FWIW I have a IIf and a II(D). I did this quite a few times with the iiif. You do get used to it but still I believe I will prefer them separated as I never use the viewfinder… Thanks a lot everyone. Chrome II (D) on the way.

I usually prefer older lens but for some reasons I am still  very fond of the rollei 40 ltm.
