Eliet Posted January 18, 2022 Share #1 Posted January 18, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Is out there any body bottom plate accessory from LEICA that can be screwed onto the M11. Seriously.

Exodies Posted January 18, 2022 Share #2 Posted January 18, 2022 I suppose RRS will produce one but could you tell us what the point is (unless it’s for the dovetail tripod mount; i get that)
rramesh Posted January 18, 2022 Share #3 Posted January 18, 2022 You need to order the handgrip. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1683002-REG/leica_24025_m11_handgrip.html 3

It sounds good. Thank you. I would basically need this removable baseplate to keep the long M tradition going. Mainly for case-modding, but it could cover/protect the open USB-C port, and hold a couple of spare SD cards? I would definitely buy it, if it were available.
Exodies Posted January 19, 2022 Share #5 Posted January 19, 2022 Unless an act of stunning stupidity has taken place the usb port is not open to the inside of the camera. For example ipads with a usb port can be washed in the bath if necessary.

Tuempel86 Posted January 19, 2022 Share #8 Posted January 19, 2022 Is it known what material the bottom of the M11 is made of? Is it magnesium or the material of the top plate, i.e. aluminum or brass?
Bernd-B Posted January 19, 2022 Share #9 Posted January 19, 2022 (edited) The small plate from Novoflex called QPL-25 slim works perfectly and is compatible with Arca Swiss style quick releases: https://www.novoflex.de/en/products-637/camera-support-systems/quick-release-units/qsystem-quick-release-units/qsystem-quick-release-plates/qpl-slim-25.html It is small enough that you handle the battery release lever Edited January 19, 2022 by Bernd-B 4

LMBSGV Posted March 12, 2022 Share #12 Posted March 12, 2022 Along with the Novoflex QPL-25, the Standard Plate that comes with the Peak Design tripod will handle the battery release lever and "fits in most 3rd party Arca tripod heads." Peak Design says “connection screw slot allows more positioning options, preventing interference with lenses, screens, and battery compartments.” That's exactly what I found when I got my M11. It's not a feature to cause one to upgrade from an earlier M, but it's a marvelous convenience to not have to remove the plate to get to the battery and SD card. John Black Posted March 13, 2022 Share #14 Posted March 13, 2022 Hoping Really Right Stuff, Kirk or someone else develops something for the M11, else the Leica made grip looks be the only option. Bigger and more expensive than I'd like. In the meantime the Novoflex Slim Plate will have to do.
