A little disappointed with the workmanship of M11

The rear wheel has a strong plastic feel, not smooth, and almost no gear sliding feeling, which is significantly cheaper than that of m10r and sl2s.

The direction key is very loose, there is a loose sound when knocking, which is also very slight on m10r.

I think M11 is significantly worse than m10r in overall workmanship. or just my M11?

No plastic feeling for me, but it slides different to the M10. The latter was smoother but could shift by accident. That happens often to me. So in summary I like the M11 wheel better.

I tried M10-R and M11 at the same time. There is a difference in the rear wheel movement. I prefer the one in M10R. However, I notice the difference only when I try them simultaneously. I have no issues with the direction pad.

Does the M11 feel any less premium? Mine doesn’t arrive until Wednesday.

No...the black feels significantly lighter, some may argue that it feels lessor but I disagree. I really like the weight of the M11, it feels perfect in my hand.

Regarding the buttons...although a subtle difference as pointed out, it is no different overall than any previous Leica

One difference between M10(-r) and M11 is that the rear wheel can now be pressed and thus can double as a function button??

It does not as a whole feel any less well-built to me than the M10 family. There are plenty of differences, both aesthetic and tactile, but overall it feels like a flagship M from Leica.

Is where any plug for the usb port at the bottom? Like in the box it comes with?

Is LCAG still claims it as weather sealed, professional camera with usb port just been exposed?

yes, its very weird to have an exposed port on a camera

I usually have exposed ports if I loose detachable cover, for instance flash synch socket on film MP 😂.

It is exposed and likely the best weather sealed part of the camera :).

Hence, building weather-sealed ports is better than having flimsy port covers that can break off or get lost. I'm not too fond of those rubber things :(. Their primary role seems to be to prevent you from plugging in a cable :).
I have a Pixii that has a USB-C port with a rubber cover. Very annoying!

Attached are  2 screenshots from a recent Leica made M11 video.

Seems to me that Leica takes M11 construction VERY seriously.
They certainly seem to care about their procedures. They work on them in a Clean Room, just saying.

IP67 weather seal rating according to Red Dot Forum/Leica Miami. Better sealed than the mount.

That very same port is "exposed" on thousands of cell phones that are getting far more use (in inclement weather even) than any camera will ever get.  We don't hear about any problems with these ports being damaged by water or lint or anything else.  I think we will start to see a ton of cameras using the same approach as Leica.

I don't mind the lightness of the camera body. Buttons all feel ok, the scroll wheel does feel different but it is what it is.

I do have a fault with the function button (next to the shutter release) though and it seems a few others have the same fault. 

It is only intermittently registering a press and it's unrelated to any short/long duration differences. I've sent an email off to Leica Australia so hopefully I'll be able to send it back and get a replacement assuming stock is available. Otherwise I might just opt for a refund and wait until the next version is released.
