How to upload images: Prepare the image as follows: 1.   The image should be sRGB and 8-bits 2.   Reduce the size to 2048 pixels on the longest side. (smaller sizes can be set, but are not recommended) 3.   Sharpen properly for screen. 4.   Save as JPG to your desktop, reducing JPG quality to produce 2000 kB (5000 kB for sponsoring members). 5.   In Lightroom these parameters should be set in the Export dialog. 6.   In the Forum posting or editing box, click “choose Files” and s

Here is the "Delicate Arch" taken a little before dawn in Arches National Park in Moab, UT on June 28th. I brought the M11 with me since it's so easy to fit a selection of lenses into a small backpack, and I had no idea what focal lengths I would want/need for this particular subject. It's about a 1.5 mile hike up to the arch in the dark, with the last half of it being more of a scramble than a hike. I missed the trail markers and got lost a couple times, but I had left enough time for exactly that and made it to the viewing area with time to spare.

It's hard to get a "different" composition on the arch from everyone else's just because of the limited geography, but I thought the panoramic shot with the 35mm worked quite well. The soft, pre-dawn light at Moab is really amazing with the pink/red rocks. I had the M11 mounted on a tripod, and used the 35mm APO for this particular image. Aperture was f/8 and the shutter speed was 1/6s.  I think I used a 2s delay rather than the cable release, but can't remember for sure as I also had my M-A with me, and it doesn't have a self timer.
