@evikneI have a question regarding RNI.

I definitely prefer profiles above presets as the provide a base on which I can then continue with my own adjustments (whereas with presets all sliders have been mixed already before I start); basically a profile is a kind of LUT.

Due to this thread I downloaded some free trials, but now the right part of my LR is a total mess as the profiles are categorized at random, and I can’t seem to change it.

RNI offers about 200 profiles, how do you organize this? Thanks.

Hi! My RNI profiles were automatically organized neat and tidy like this. Are yours listed differently? Maybe you did something wrong during the installation process? It is possible to edit each profile so that they are grouped correctly (I had to do this with the free profiles from Presetpro). But this is a rather complicated and cumbersome procedure.

If you've only downloaded a few free trial profiles, these may not be as well organized as the paid profiles, but this will probably be resolved if you purchase the full package.

For those using the Cobalt profiles I have a question; the different options (Kodachrome / Portra 800 etc) come up in both the Lightroom presets as well as the camera profile panel.

It's my understanding that the way their system is designed, you should first apply one of their camera standard profiles (specific to your camera) in order to give you a consistent base for the preset to build upon. And after that, you move to the presets panel and select one of their film simulations that you want to use. Is that correct?

If that's the case, should the film simulations be showing up in the camera profile section as well as in the preset section? Or have I installed something wrong?

I haven't tried them, so I don't know for sure. But you can also try asking in this thread:
