When you are a terrible skier you pick up other hobbies :) Interestingly with my gloves on I accidentally put it in MF, but since I was stopped down to F13 it worked out.

If you have read Desert Solitaire by Ed Abbey this is Mt Tukuhnikivatz that he writes about:

“Late in August the lure of the mountains becomes irresistible. Seared by the everlasting sunfire, I want to see running water again, embrace a pine tree, cut my initials in the bark of an aspen, get bit by a mosquito, see a mountain bluebird, find a big blue columbine, get lost in the firs, hike above timberline, sunbathe on snow and eat some ice, climb the rocks and stand in the wind at the top of the world on the peak of Tukuhnikivatz.”

Looks beautiful but intimidating. I crasehd two times hard in the last two months with my mountainbike in the mud. My interest in cycling in slippery condition is minimal at the moment.

I hope you did not get banged up too bad. One positive thing about fat biking is that the snow is soft if you do fall :) Plus with the 5" tire at 3PSI they are very stable.

First time my knee hit a rock, had to pause three weeks. Next time I fell on my tailbone, one week pausing. Nothing serious though. Needed a new brake lever and adjustment of the derailleur, nothing serious on the equipment side too.

Are these 5" tires tubeless?

I am just going to keep updating this thread as long as there is snow on the ground in the desert.
