overexposed Posted December 19, 2021 Share #1 Posted December 19, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) So Leica announced a 10 years anniversary edition of the 35mm summilux, in complete silence, and already sold out. whats your opinion behind these practises? https://leicarumors.com/2021/12/18/leica-quietly-announced-a-new-summilux-m-14-35mm-fle-aspherical-10-jahre-summilux-limited-edition-lens.aspx/
Advertisement Posted December 19, 2021 Posted December 19, 2021 Hi overexposed, Take a look here Leica new releases "annoyances". I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pippy Posted December 19, 2021 Share #2 Posted December 19, 2021 I'm delighted that Leica can get so much money from so many people with such a simple scheme. Good for them! Philip. 8
a.noctilux Posted December 19, 2021 Share #3 Posted December 19, 2021 Like Philip, for me it's good for Leica. New type of silence marketing. Then good for us all Leica users, this would float the company for more years to come.
horosu Posted December 19, 2021 Share #4 Posted December 19, 2021 It seems to be optically identical to the FLE, only different outer appearance. Disappointing.

FrozenInTime Posted December 19, 2021 Share #10 Posted December 19, 2021 All we need now is for Leica to sell NFTs for virtual lenses that we can all aspire to own, but will never see or use. 2
didier Posted December 19, 2021 Share #11 Posted December 19, 2021 It looks close cosmetically to the Wetzlar Edition Leica proposed with the launch of the M10M

UliWer Posted December 19, 2021 Share #13 Posted December 19, 2021 The most interesting feature of this edition is the engraving of „FLE“. This abbreviation was never used for the original lens by Leica before. It could be interesting trying to find out when it was used first and by whom. This forum is probably a promising contender for the copyright. Next special editions could be lenses with „WATE“ or „MATE“ engravings, or even better the „FRANKENFINDER“. 1
Herr Barnack Posted December 19, 2021 Share #14 Posted December 19, 2021 Good for Leica, not a big deal for me. Not even a small deal for me.

a.noctilux Posted December 19, 2021 Share #16 Posted December 19, 2021 My guessing is 109 units would never been used to take photographs. One will be used to have first class high praise reviews. The others ( in not open box ) would gain many times the values of investment. I hope that I'm wrong 😇.
