Hello everyone!
I have a shutter release button which I love very much, recently I sold my M10 and switched to Q2 and that button is like my "companion"
It hurts so much, that I can't use it on Q2 (no thread)

Has anyone tried to implement it?

Hi Captain

I am with you on this!  However , on the Leica Rumours (comments) site there is a post where someone asks for prayers to get the screw hole on m11 removed.  Apparently he doesn’t see any point and it hurts him. He doesn’t know of any camera that still includes the hole!?!?.  Of course, each opinion is personal and may be valid but I agree that it is better to have the shutter release hole than not.  I do believe that there is a fixing solution for the Q2. Someone will add details to this thread I’m sure.

Jaap was obviously joking.  And no, there is no practical way to adapt your Komura soft shutter release to the Q2 without damaging it beyond repair.

However, there are adhesive soft shutter release buttons on the market, which I found by simply searching this forum.

The Lolumina kit is your best option, and you might be able to mount the Komura button IF you willing to drill its bottom, or fabricate a similar mount that would allow the Komura to mount.

All depends how much money and effort you are willing to spend. I would try figure out a way bound the two pieces - basically you need a base and the adhesive. the trick is figuring out how to get the button attach to that base. It's possible, just no easy....

I have thought that the removal of the cable release thread on cameras was a stupid ploy to require the purchase of an electronic release gizmo. The cable release is cheap and dependable it should never have been removed in my opinion.  It would have been so easy to offer both cable release thread as well as electronic on all but the M. Leave the M simple, please!

There, got that off my chest!

some cameras offer another connection point which allows  for an electronic version of a cable release - recent models have most of those feature now part of the UI, and with wifi -bluetooth added on, the separate gizmo is now the phone.

The bad part of the story is that the Q does not provide any good options....the app sucks, which in theory allows to be a wireless controller, and the shutter button is just a tad small and recessed for me, but that's part of the model's concept. There are less fancy round stick-on buttons; lately I have found that the typical soft release button sometimes end triggering blank shots when camera is stowed away in bag, and accidentally the power was turned on or actually forgotten to be turned off.

I like them, however they are not worry free...
