Yes strange, I went to make an edit/change but then something went wrong and I decided to log out. Logged in again and I saw it too🤔.

I think it's too old to edit/correct now (that option goes away after ~1 hour I think) so maybe you can post the photo again and we'll ask @satijntje to use his moderator powers to remove the post with the wrong link on the previous page.

Here again the postcard of the cranes on the quay I previously posted. Color film photo converted to monochrome. Hope it's visible now.

I used Microsoft ICE to stitch two images taken from Herman and Nadia's 8th floor balcony. Lightroom couldn't handle it but exporting the two photo's separately and joining them then worked fine.

It is visible… but the first one is too, and always has been for me… strange.

That Summar portrait indeed looks nice Albert, very subdued but still sharp! Must also work wonders on film where the gradations are even more subtle vs. digital I would think.

Thanks Pieter. The result of using own Michiel's Summar on my M10R body to take a picture of him indeed surprised me too. I thought of some glow to the subject etc. But no glow (blooming and haze from bright or contrasty subjects, from mis-aligned lens elements). I had also read about the many Summars with brushed and tarnished lens elements.

When I took the first picture of Michiel and saw the result on review, I thought, superb, but did stop down from F2 to F2.2 or 2.5. Focus was perfect.

What I like is the soft background blur. The Summar has a blur which I could call a cauliflower effect, it starts to grow a little bit and needs carefull handling (no increase of the clarity or local contratst sliders that is) and then it stays soft. Very interesting.

Here a second picture of @Michiel Fokkema posing. The focus shifted about half a cm to the back from my first posted portrait. I now like the charm of the eye. What a painter would like to achieve. So is this a painterly lens. Yes!

I expect that grain on film can mask the slight sharpness. I tried using a HP5 emulation in SEP - but that masked the result. I also expect that standard scanning of film (the freebe stuff) does not give a result up to the level we expect in this forum. I once built an enlarger with a point source (just the side of a small halogen lamp). Then it was possible to enlarge the grain itself. One would need such complex equipment I'm afraid.

Apparently the IQ of AI colorise needs a bit of a boost 😁

I developed and scanned my film today. Here's the first results

(FP4+ @125 asa, developed in 1 shot 1:1 Microphen, scanned as negative on an Epson V700 and converted to positive in Lightroom using the Negative Lab Pro plugin)

Yes. Look up the EXIF:

Datum/tijd: 18 sep. 2022 20:19:06
Merk: Leica Camera AG
Model: M Monochrom
Resolutie (eenheid): inch
Software: Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic 11.5 (Macintosh)
X-resolutie: 300
Y-resolutie: 300

I exported in Adobe-RGB. Maybe that did it? Maybe @Herman. would know?

It took a while because I was unsure choosing between the monochrome converted or the corrected color version of this picture. On the quay with the old cranes where analogM had found some subjects.
