With my CL, I use a mixture of native TL lenses and M lenses. Obviously, the TL lenses are detected by the camera, but the M lenses are not. I have been unable to find a way to enter these lenses manually, as one can with the SL/SL2 cameras. Am I missing something, or did Leica decide not to offer that feature on the CL?

Disclaimer, I don't use lens profiles, of course the TL lenses are picked up but I have several older Leica lenses that aren't listed. There is a list of M lenses on the CL menu under Lens Profiles, M-Lenses, but this only picks up M-Lenses that have the profile markings, and only with the Leica adapter. If the lens isn't marked you can find a close substitute, many people do this with non Leica lenses, a bit of trial and error, or you can search for recommendations.

The camera behaves somewhat differently if you use a Leica branded or a third party adapter independent of whether your lens is coded.  For example, the right dial on the top of the camera is for selecting the degree of magnification to help manual focusing but that only works if you have a Leica adapter.  If you use a Leica adapter the moment you mount an uncoded lens a selection of lens profiles will be shown for you to select your lens.  If you use a third party adapter the camera does not even know a lens is mounted.

Thanks for pointing out that a list of M-mount lenses will only appear with the use of a Leica M-L adapter. I happen to own one and will test it tomorrow.

It works, but unfortunately the Lens Profiles list does not contain any of the M 50 Noctilux lenses that I would use for my Voigtlander Nokton 50 f/1.2. Probably not a big deal, since the profiles are for Leica lenses only and not V-M lenses, so I will use one of the profiles for 50 f/2 lenses

I would suggest doing a series of test exposures, at a selection of different distance settings and at the lens openings from wide open to f/11, both with and without a profile set to determine what the profile is actually doing to the image. Various image processing apps (Lightroom Classic, for instance) also include lens profiles for many of the Voigtländer lenses... I've found it better in some cases to leave the lens unprofiled in th3 camera and to apply the corrections in post processing.

You can edit the list of M lenses that will be shown, and you just need to do that once.  After that you just select from that list every time you mount a lens.  If you don't see a Noctilux listed, chances are it was edited out of the list.  Every lens Leica ever made is there for you to add to the list.

Personally I edited my list to have just the 4 or 5 M lenses I own to keep the list short.  That way I can find the profile I need without scrolling.

There are 3 profiles available in the lens profiles list: 50/0.95 (11602), 50/1(11821/11822) and 50/1.2 (11820). Are you sure none of them matches your Nokton?

You're right! Somehow, I had missed those profiles. Thanks. The 50 f/1.2 matches my Nokton exactly (as to identification, not lens corrections).

The 50/1.2 profile does no lens correction i can see on my CL. You may wish to check with DNG Cleaner. Will remove the opcodes and let you compare with and w/o lens correction.

For the Nokton 50 f/1.2, the distortion does not seem to be a concern. I am happy simply to have lens identification. I also have the CV Nokton-M 75 f1.5 that I think is superb. I will use the built-in M 75/1.4 profile for that one.
