dbeids Posted November 14, 2021 Share #1 Posted November 14, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) After years of using film M cameras (3, 4 and 6) I purchased an M10-r. All my old lenses save one, Sumicron f2, 35, are very sharp on the new body. The 35 is a Leitz Canada version I purchased used in the 80’s. Never had an issue with that lens on any of the film bodies. Is there anything to do about this, or just bite the bullet and buy a new 35? Thanks in advance. a.noctilux Posted November 14, 2021 Share #2 Posted November 14, 2021 Welcome @dbeids What exactly is wrong with your Summicron 35mm ( this one ? or this IV ? ).
dbeids Posted November 14, 2021 Author Share #3 Posted November 14, 2021 It’s item number, per Leica, is 11 308. Interestingly that item number is not listed in the manual recognition menu on the M10-r. the focus is soft at every aperture except f16.
a.noctilux Posted November 14, 2021 Share #4 Posted November 14, 2021 SAWOM 11308 you have a gem called '8 element'. Maybe the lens needs some care : lens can have haze or decentered elements, etc. I have two '8 elements' 2/35, they are not the sharpest but the loveliest in my 35mm Leitz/Leica lenses

I will bring it to my Leica person for an evaluation.

CaymanS Posted December 17, 2021 Share #10 Posted December 17, 2021 Will 50mm f2 near focusing lens work on m10-p without focusing range issues or mounting issues, either with or without specs?
