But unless Leica have rectified the Kevlar cladding fraying problems described here, it will be a hard pass for me: I'm not spending $5k + to buy a high end camera that comes apart like a wool sweater under normal use. Hopefully Leica took notice of the kevlar cladding issue and will apply some sort of treatment to the surface this time. At least the Q2 is a fixed lens with no concern over the Kevlar fibers getting onto the sensor. I personally would rather have a Q2-P Safari that has the Q-P matte textured paint in the Safari color. LFI email this morning mentions a price of EUR 5,550 for the Q2 and EUR 5,950 for the Q2M, so only a small premium (by Leica standards) over the base model. Also says the Monochrom will be limited to 350 units worldwide; no mention of Q2 numbers.
