Two days after I wired the money I had the camera, listed as "Currently out of stock, delivery time 7-9 weeks, currently not available for reservation" in my hands. Took about 7 weeks in total.

I guess mileage may vary case by case.

Congrats, it's a shame all vendors don't work the same. Enjoy the R I hear its a great camera, a bit out of my budget these days and anyway I'm happy with my M9s. That said I do lust after the M10 D for some strange reason but again they seem to be even rarer new or used.

Does any one know when the next batch of BP MP's are being made? I put down a order for one from a local camera store in July and still waiting

Someone reported getting one that was made earlier this month. 7th IIRC.

  I guess i was the lucky one.  After spending  only 2 or 3 weeks  contemplating such a purchase I called every one i could think of  - none to be found anywhere. I finally  found one in the Corporate  DC store.

BTW  does anyone  know how to figure out when it was on the  Line?  5630xxx is my SN.  I have my  boxes and papers stored  in an off site storage place.

I just got a call last week from my local Leica store and they just got an MP BP in stock.
