Beautiful images, Allan.  Congratulations!

Zion is a place of enormous beauty.  I was there once way too many years ago.

I am wanting to go back, this time with my Q2.  I would like to hike/climb to the summit of Angel's Landing  to photograph the magnificent view that awaits all who make the climb.

Many thanks! In the past 6 years we've visited many parks and Zion is my new favorite. It's one of those places where the photos could almost take themselves.

We didn't make it up to Angel's Landing this trip, the trail was closed for either weather or maintenance while we were there. It's quite a climb; maybe on a return visit we'll at least make it to Scout Lookout. Anyway I hope you can make a return visit as well as I... it'll be well worth it.

For a winged creature as a chicken it won't be difficult to achieve.🤣

Thanks so much Stuart and Henry! I agree about the last one; by one’s suggestion, the title should be “Sticks and Stones.” 😄

One thing I’ve learned on this trip is the 21/2.8 Elmarit-M pre-ASPH, a Mandler design if I’m correct, is really a great lens.

Cheers, Allan

Absolutely stunning set of photos. Some of the best landscapes I've seen posted here in quite a while.  You certainly pulled the best of of a one camera, one lens kit.

Great set! This is my favorite NP and your set allowed me a nice visit just now. Thank you.

Ece

Thank you both so much, and for the kind words! I have to say Zion is my new favorite as well.

When I look back, even though I used a 50 (f/2.8 Elmar-M) and a 28 (f/2.8 Elmarit-M V3), the vast majority of the images I like are from using the 21/2.8.

Cheers, Allan

Really beautiful colors! I love them. Planning to print this out? Bet this would look lovely as large prints on a wall somewhere. Really love the exposure on the last one!

Many thanks! As a matter of fact, yes, the first and last will be printed on metal; on past efforts that displays nicely.

We are moving to  Los Vegas next month  and  after seeing your beautiful  pictures I'm going / Thanks for sharing.

Excellent, and thank you Henry! It's well worth it, I have to say after visiting Zion, it is now at the top of my NP list so far as my personal ranking goes. Here's my Zion and Bryce Canyon Flickr album using both Leica and Pentax gear (I'll be adding more Bronica S medium format film images soon). I found this book to be an excellent planning resource, as well as this one for The Narrows. We went in August and even though it was warm some days, we started early (around sunrise) and the crowds had subsided somewhat. Enjoy!
