Cosina Viogtlander have a rather large selection of M mount lenses to choose from now.

I only shoot 35/50mm so only really aware of that lineup.

For 35mm we have the F1.2/1.4 Nokton, F2 Ultron, F2 APO and F2.5 Skopar.

For 50mm we have the  F1.2/F1.5 Nokton, F2 APO and more recently the F1.5 Heliar Classic.

Are you interested and/or you think we will see an 50mm Ultron?

I have the Nokton 50/1.5 LTM and really can't see how an Ultron would provide anything more that what I have already.

Now if I could get something like the Summitar? Crazy bokeh wide open and sharp & well behaved when stopped down? That would be a good tool to have alongside the fast but almost boringly well behaved Nokton :D

The original Nokton f1.1 with a bit of electrical tape on the camber was always a freaky alternative ;)

I think the new Heliar 50 is supposed to fill that gap.

I think they should focus on more neglected focal lenghts. Maybe they could expand their 28mm lineup with a skopar or nokton version

Yes, and amen to that! I would love to get a new, well-designed 90mm f/2 Apo-Lanthar in M mount. One with zero bokeh fringing aka LoCA nowadays.

Just a very compact and sharp 50mm, although the Nokton F1.5 is fairly compact and sharp already.

That would be a Skopar, I think. The Ultron designation is used for quite fast, but slower than Nokton, lenses.

I don't think we'll see one. Hirofumi Kobayashi (president of Cosina Voigtlander), thinks 75mm is the longest usable lens on a rangefinder.

True, that.

However, that was back in C/V's screw-mount era (and even then they put out a 90mm f/3.5 - the first C/V lens-for-Leica to bear the "APO-Lanthar" label). And when C/V was making their own cameras, with a shorter RF base-length (less focus precision).

If C/V is now willing to risk a 75mm f/1.5 for M, they might be open to a 90 f/1.8 (they do love those extra 10ths of a stop - oh, and it should weigh 395g ;) ), and maybe a 135 f/3.5 APO-Lanthar. Given the clarity of the 75 at f/1.5, I'd like to see what they could do.

As @adan already mentioned, Voigtländer already made the 90mm f/3.5 Apo-Lanthar in LTM. Today, given digital RF cameras with EVF, and that Voigtländer has made Nokton 50mm in f/1.1 and f/1.2 versions as well as the Nokton 75mm f/1.5, I do expect that an Apo-Lanthar 90mm f/2 is probable in the near future. There are of course no indications that they will at present, though, but I do hope it.

I'd like to see a modern 50mm Ultron in M mount. Seems like f/2 would be about right. It should be compact, relatively light weight and be extremely well behaved. In keeping with the current trend, CV should demonstrate to Leica how to make a better 50mm Summicron at a third of the price...

Likely this won't happen since not much money can potentially made for Cosina from a 50/2 M-lens. There are plenty of alternatives both vintage and modern in the 50 mm focal length, and more trendy designs go either faster (like the CV 50/1.2) or into the APO direction with the CV 50/2 APO-Lanthar. An additional 50/2 Ultron would also give more in-house competition with these newer lenses.

A used Leica 50/2 Summicron pre-ASPH lens is about $1K for a more modern look, for more vintage look the Leica 50/2 Summitar lens ($400-500) is a good option.

This said, I wouldn't mind a CV 50/2 since more options are always good for the consumer. But I doubt this will come to fruition in this case.

I'm missing a modern compact Summicron sort of. A Summicron 50/2 v4 with the same acutance as the Ultron 35/2 so to speak. Or a collapsible 50/2 recalling of the Summicron v1 with a modern character.  I'm not aware of any 50/2 lens like this aside from the Summicron 50/2 apo but it is not a compact lens that much, let alone the larger Apo-Lanthar.

YES! :)

I would love to have a modern 50mm Summicron collapsible. Same look and feel as the ca. 1957 collapsible Summicron with modern optics and without the infinity lock.

Please, please...PLEASE Cosina, make it so. :)
