I believe Leica recommend the UHS-II cards: which I do use as a full time DNG file user. Others here will say not needed except for video or burst shooting perhaps.

Video is less demanding comparing with burst mode…:)

FWIW, I talked to Leica DC and they said there is no need for UHS-II UNLESS you're bursting shots, even for exposure compensation.  I am mainly street/landscape so went ahead and put in the UHS-1 card. So far so good.  I bought a small (32GB) UHS-II Card to experiment with as well.

I "invested" in a 128GB UHS-2 SD card and it has served me well. I don't use burst often and have not done any video in the 2 years I have had my Q2. I have noticed no delays is saving to the card shooting raw and jpg. I do carry an extra UHS-1 card just in case of a problem or filling up my 128GB card. So far, I have never used the 2nd card.
