Leica M TTL requires a Leica brand flash.  I have three of them, the SF24D, SF64, and SF40.  Can't speak to the M10, but my experience with Leica M TTL is that it suffers from the same limitations as its center weighted metering. It is easily fooled by some scenes.  For example a backlighted subject might call for a touch of fill flash, but Leica M TTL will refuse to provide it thinking the scene is already properly illuminated. For those situations another flash exposure mode mode works beautifully - Auto (auto-thyrister, not to be confused with Auto on the SF40 and SF60).  Auto is a mode in which the flash meters the flash illumination of the subject and quenches the flash output when proper exposure has been achieved.  In order to do this the flash requires knowledge of the shooting aperture and ISO setting.  The SF24D and SF64 have this mode as well as a lot of third party flashes. My older Nikon flashes work fine in Auto mode.

funny you say that. I have the same in the SL2 and it is very frustrating  when I sky is in the frame.

I didn't get it on the M10-P or the Q2. I consider it a bug, or a serious mistake
