Kitenko Posted July 21, 2021 Share #1 Â Posted July 21, 2021 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello all, I have an M6, and the film counter won't reset properly when opening the body and inserting a new roll. I have seen numerous references in other forums and threads, often from yesteryear, to a reset tab located near the film uptake spool that could likely solve the issue. Whereabouts is this, would anyone be able to post a diagram? Thanks
Advertisement Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 Hi Kitenko, Take a look here Leica M6 Film Counter Reset Tab Location. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Danner Posted July 21, 2021 Share #2  Posted July 21, 2021 (edited) It resets when you remove the bottom plate.  The tab is located at the front of the case, midway between the take-up spool and the motor-drive notched wheel.  It's a thin metal piece, about the size of a pencil lead. Mainly in hot weather, the resetting may or may not be done properly to '-2'. Â On this particular M6, this 'false reset' was cured on the next CLA when I told the repair people. IanH Posted July 22, 2021 Share #4  Posted July 22, 2021 I had a similar issue with an M6 TTL, which was solved through a repair. I wasn’t aware of the mechanism pointed out above, thanks for sharing.
